Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Eating Disorders
“Limitations exist only in the mind” Kathleen Phythian.
The main problem with anorexia is that you don’t actually feel you have a problem – as such, it is more likely family members that are concerned about you rather than you being concerned about yourself.
Do you have an eating disorder?
Do you like to feel in control of your eating and weight and probably feel panicky if it fluctuates at all. Or maybe you feel frustrated at not being able to lose weight
because all you see is how fat you are when you look in the mirror. You may even exercise to extremes and when people show their concerns you are adamant that you are keeping fit and well toned.
The idea of being cured of your condition is probably completely undesirable because what that implies is that you will eat more food, put on more weight and become even fatter than ever, the very thing you are trying to avoid.
However, you know that you are not happy with your current situation and that is where Kathleen and hypnotherapy can help you. You probably feel anxious much of the time. Your self-esteem will be low so you don’t feel that great about yourself, or you may even believe that you are a bad person and you’re probably also a bit of perfectionist and as a result can be quite harsh on yourself. All of which can lead to a very stressful, anxious and self-deprecating experience. Not a particularly fulfilling way of living.
Some sufferers may also self harm in a variety of different ways or have trichotillomania, body dysmorphic disorder, emetophobia or any other anxiety based condition. Depression too can be quite common in anyone with an eating disorder along with O.C.D.
When someone like yourself comes to Kathleen for help, she hardly even mentions food and weight. What she focus’s on instead is helping you to feel better about yourself. To feel more confident and more relaxed. To feel more in control once again and to rebuild your self-esteem and self-respect and to simply enjoy life more without all the hang-ups you currently have. As you work through a course of therapy the aim is to remove the false beliefs that are causing your anxiety and often distress. You will work together to help you to let go of deep rooted emotions and in doing so we will build up your self esteem and improve your self confidence.
Kathleen says “It is a wonderful thing to see someone blossom and grow from being very anxious into a confident person in control of their lives and ready to become one of life’s winners once more, a truly wonderful thing indeed.”
Hypnotherapy and hypnosis are very effective at doing this and a rather beneficial side effect is that you then also tend to feel much more in control of your eating and your weight.
