“Limitations exist only in the mind” Kathleen Phythian.
While Kathleen was still in senior school she was awarded a modest certificate for raising the most money for the poppy appeal in her area. Since then she has helped to raise many thousands of pounds for various charities, local, national and worldwide, including:- Greenpeace,The Whitechapel Centre,Dogs Trust, Shelter, Help the Aged, Jospice, Shy Lowen, World Wildlife Fund, R.S.P.B, Parkgate Pony Sanctuary and much more.
Kathleen completed the Sefton Triathlon in 2011, has abseiled from The Anglican Cathedral, The Fourth Bridge and also Leasowe Lighthouse twice all for various charities. She is currently looking at sky diving and wing walking for her next challenges. Perhaps you may like to suggest a worthy charity or even a challenge..?
Liverpool was the first city in the world to have a lending library, a school of tropical medicine and an American consul. It was the first UK city to have a school for the blind! Kathleen’s six books can be found on Liverpool Central Library.
